FUNDRAISER

 

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County seeks a fundraiser who reports directly to the President of the SPCA in Cattaraugus County.

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

Plans, directs, and coordinates all fundraising activities and special projects, by performing the following duties personally or with volunteers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Regular duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

On an ongoing basis:

 

1.          Fund Raising – Establishes short- and long-range goals for unrestricted funding sources.  Researches public and private grant sources (agencies, corporations and foundations) to identify sources of restricted and unrestricted funding.  Works with volunteers to develop funding related projects. Organizes individual donor campaigns (e.g., major donors, direct mail and board of trustees). Organizes solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 

2.          Major Gift/Donor Support – Produce major donor, board and special category solicitations/support materials with the intent to retain or upgrade gifts when possible.  Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgment, scheduling and attending in-person visits.

 

3.          Planned Giving Program – Track progress of pending Legacy and Bequest gifts. Fulfill requests, produce correspondences and encourage partial/early disbursement where appropriate.

 

4.          Database and Records Management – Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining Raiser’s Edge and paper records of contributors and grants.  Maintain security and quality controls. Generate queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed. Manage any related vendors.

 

5.          Unrestricted Income Financial Reporting – Maintain accurate accounting of all unrestricted income and its sources. Interface with team and Finance to fulfill information requests and maintain reporting accuracy.

 

6. Dedicate on-going attention to personal professional development through trade organization networks.

 

7. Must believe in the no-kill policy and promote the no-kill policy to all individuals that visit and/or work at the SPCA.

KENNEL MANAGER

 

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County seeks a Kennel Manager who reports to the General Manager of the SPCA in Cattaraugus County.

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

The Kennel Manager is responsible for the day-to-day care of all the animals at the SPCA in Cattaraugus County.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Regular duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

On an ongoing basis:

 

1.          Apply knowledge of normal food and liquid requirements of animals. As required, provide special food and liquids.

 

2.          Apply knowledge and skills in controlling/handling individual animal temperament. Have ability to gain animal confidence when restraining them for transport, grooming and/or treatment.

 

3.          General cleaning of public and employee areas, building and yard maintenance to maintain clean, odor-free, and attractive environment.

 

4.          Housekeeping and laundry duties for all areas.

 

5.          Responsible for the daily exercise of the dogs. 

 

6.          Professional, cheerful, and helpful attitude when assisting potential adopters.

GENERAL MANAGER

 

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County seeks a General Manager who reports directly to the President of the SPCA in Cattaraugus County.

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

The General Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of Operations, including Animal Care and Placement, Veterinary Services and Facility Maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Regular duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

On an ongoing basis:

 

1.          Stays abreast of industry trends and implements changes in policies and procedures as appropriate for the organization, the strategic goals and the needs of the community. Provides recommendations for other policy/procedural changes/improvements and ensures the implementation of those changes.

 

2.          Ensures that all animals in our care receive the highest-quality care possible.

 

3.          Oversees management of employees and volunteers.

 

4.          Supervises, guides, evaluates, and counsels staff; provides for the professional growth of staff; researches training opportunities; creates and evaluates goals and objectives; ensures adequate staffing within the department; participates in employment decisions.

 

5.          Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local animal care and sheltering requirements (PACFA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA)

 

6.          Promotes professionalism and high standards of client service.

 

7.          Responsible for oversight of information technology and facilities.

 

8.          Monitors the appearance and safety of the Society facility; coordinates improvement and safety projects; manages building improvements and construction projects.

 

9.          Establishes safety protocols; provides for and institutes a culture of safety within the organization. Follows all safety guidelines to ensure a safe workplace. Actively monitors the safety compliance of staff and takes immediate action to address any safety concern or noncompliance of safety rules that could put a client, volunteer, employee, animal or the organization at risk.

 

10. Maintains close and ongoing communication with the President of the SPCA.

 

11. Must believe in the no-kill  policy and promote the no-kill policy to all individuals that visit and/or work at the SPCA.
